COURAGE – The original definition of courage is from the Latin word ‘cor,’ meaning ‘heart.’ And the original definition was to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart. My life has been full of opportunities to grow through courage and I’m just getting started. It took courage for me to talk openly about my loss in the UFC but it was something that had to be done, something I needed to overcome in order to grow as a fighter, thing is we all have losses and we learn from them and become better as a human a man woman fighter etc. Yesterday when the news of me signing with the UFC I knew that having the courage to talk about my loss got me to this point, not only that but the hard work and dedication. Courage propels me and holds me accountable. My courage inspires others to find their own, the amount of messages I receive on a daily bases is at times overwhelming I never imagined that I would get an audience by simply blogging about my daily habits, for me the blogging was initially an outlet something I could do to get the thoughts out of my head kinda like a therapy session, interestingly enough I started to get asked about diet and training tips which then saw the blogs evolve from an outlet to a guide in the sense with my past experiences people could learn to pursue their own dreams whether it was to be a professional athlete, a singer anything really. I’ve learnt that you cant be afraid and if you want something bad enough and you work hard for it you will get it I say this because I have done it. Since coming back into the fight scene I have been on my hustle for 3 years, I hustled hard and I stayed on my grind, its not all peachy I had a loss in these 3 years and I know that some people though ohh here we go this is it, but I used what I felt from that loss and turned into fuel to keep me going and to push harder than ever. I told myself “I may win, I may lose but I will never be defeated. You can play it safe & be good or you can take a risk. Guys keep on your hustle All Day Every Day.
