“If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse – JIM ROHN”. Most of you would know by now that I will be facing Sean “Big Sexy” McCorkle December 7th on AFC4 where I will defend my AFC World Heav
y Weight Championship. I’m looking forward to fighting for AFC and getting back into the cage, which brings me to today’s blog. Having a vision is a powerful tool, you are honoring your goals, aspiring toward them, and taking risks to expand your horizons in order to achieve what you desire. Sometimes our visions for ourselves subtly turn into tunnel vision. We can’t see anything that contradicts our intentions and desires, we know what we want and we focus on it and go for it. I’m always focused and this is something that I had to learn and apply to my training, when I hop into the cage I’m physically and mentally prepared for what’s to come. Don’t make excuses, even viable excuses, are the reason so many individuals never achieve there potential. If you want to be successful you must learn to develop a no excuse mentality. This will do so many things for you, its worked for me, learn to develop the no excuse attitude and watch how your life begins to change for the better. Anxiety, guilt, and stress will be replaced with pride, improvement, and increased success. People will start to respect you more and you will begin to respect yourself more. I never go into a fight with doubts I’m always positive, I know what I can achieve and I focus on that, what ever happens I will deal with it, but I will not make excuses, failures happen to the most successful and smartest people and this only makes us better and makes us try harder the next time around. Because no matter what you do for a living, no matter how old you are, and regardless of where you grew up, we all share something in common and that’s the desire to be successful, how that success is defined is by each and everyone of us, were all different and want different successes, specific to you and your goals. What success means to one, can be very different for another. Success to some may mean fancy cars and homes. Success to others may mean being a good parent, spouse, or friend. For others, it may be simply to be happy. Or it even all of the above. To me was to create my brand “The Hulk” and be the best I could be. The beauty of success is that it can have many layers. Success doesn’t need to be limited to one aspect of life—but as many aspects as we desire to succeed in. The critical part of being successful is to be aware of what you want. Define it, write it down, and reflect, every day, on which steps are necessary to write your own story of success. Right now my next goal is to succeed at defending my title and coming home with my belt in hand how am I going to acquire it, turn up the training and hustling All Day Every Day.
Success is yours, you just need to want it!!
